Liquid lenses are a type of lenses that can adjust focus according to an external stimulus such as the application of an electric potential, or a mechanical or hydraulic pressure. Focus control is fast and continuous. Low interface reflectivity is a limitation for all the profilometry techniques except DHM® which enables to follow the liquid deformation over time, i.e in 4D.
A liquid lens formed from a water/oil interface is reversed due to external pressure/force applied. DHM recorded the dynamic 3D profile of the reverse process.
Das DHM® captures the dynamic process of a droplet evaporation to show both 4D topography and dynamic profile.
