Double-sided structures

Interface suppression on a both-sides-structured sample imaged in transmission configuration with DHM T1000: left: without immersion liquid right: with immersion liquid of refractive index equal to that of the sampe, and bottom: its resulting 3D view

Double-sided structures

Double-sided micro-optics are convenient because a single element can replace two elements eliminating the need to align and fix the successive micro-optic elements. On the other hand, in quality control, each surface and teir alignment should be characterized precisely to certify the micro-optics specifications. The DHM T1000, used with immersion liquids, is a perfect tool for double-sided structure investigation in transmission. Indeed, by adjusting the medium refractive index to  that of the micro-optic, the structure in contact with the immersion liquid is cancelled. It allows the shape measurement of the other side of the structure and its quality (roughness, defects, shape information,…) by using digital processing implemented in the Koala software.
